It typically includes stories, photos and many times videos. Though a great way to keep a hold of those memories, the greatest part is being able to keep friends and family members all over the world updated with your baby’s progress. The first couple years are so exciting and every one loves sharing those baby stories and photos. However modern life can be chaotic, families are often times spread across the globe and an Internet journal or ‘baby blog’ is a great way to ensure that everyone who you care about can share those precious (and not so precious) moments with you.

We all have probably seen celebrity blogs or stories about celebrity baby blogs, but your baby does not have to be a celebrity to have their own web site. You also don’t have to air the family laundry online if precautions are taken. Our service, for example, by default blocks search engines from including personal sites within their results and if you like you can password protect your site. It’s not about driving large numbers of people to your baby’s blog, its about sharing those great stories, photos and videos with grandma, grandpa, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and whomever you please no matter where in the world they are.

MyLittleGuppy is unique in that it is built directly into Facbook and though it builds a personal baby blog web site for anyone you invite to view, it takes full advantage of the social media aspects of Facebook making sharing that much easier.

As a Facebook application it can be installed easily and free by visiting http://apps.facebook.com/my-little-guppy/. You must have a Facebook account in order to use the application, but who doesn’t have one of those?

As part of the setup process you will choose a personal subdomain which will make up your new personal web site. An example would be kendyl.mylittleguppy.com. One of the most powerful aspects of the this application is that even through it is fully integrated with Facebook and allows you to share photos, videos and stories with your Facebook friends, others do not need a Facebook account or need to be your Facebook friend to view the personal web site. They can view the site just like any other web site or blog, by simply entering the Web address into their favorite browser.

Each time you create a new photo album/post a new photo and/or write a new blog entry this will be shared with your Facebook friends on their walls just like any other status update made on Facebook. Friends will see a small preview of what is new and be able to click a link over to your personal web site for the full content.

The social media aspect doesn’t end there though. When your Facebook friends install the application and build their personal blog site, their activity can be seen in a special ‘My Friends’ tab within the application and in the ‘Friends’ tab of the personal web site. It’s like a virtual play group.

Other features include:

-Easy inclusion of YouTube videos
-Password protecting your personal web site
-Visitors can make comments on your blog
-Search engines are by default blocked from indexing personal sites
and much more.

Project BIG fish, the parent company to My Little Guppy, appreciates the efforts Non-Profits make to promote their causes and solicit donations. It is these type of organizations and the people that run them that Project BIG fish loves to work with and help build their visual identity.

One small way we thought we could help outside of our regular design services, is to offer free online advertising to qualifying non-profit organizations within the MyLittleGuppy.com network.

MyLittleGuppy.com is the first and only baby and family blog tool on Facebook. The application allows parents to create an personal family blog from within their Facebook account. As part of the application we offer advertising on the marketing site (www.mylittleguppy.com) as well as all the individual family or baby blogs and member email communications.

If you run a non-profit and are interested in this free advertising opportunity, please contact us today by clicking here and filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

Have a My Little Guppy Free Family Blog?
